NRA Employee Accidentally Discharges Gun, Wounds Himself
A National Rifle Association employee accidentally discharged a gun and wounded himself during training Thursday, Fairfax County Police said. Around 3:30 p.m., the 46-year-old employee was training at the National Firearms Museum's shooting range at 11250 Waples Mill Road in Fairfax when he suffered a minor lower body wound and was taken to the hospital.

Two Tornadoes Struck D.C. Region During Thunderstorm: Reports
The line of thunderstorms that roared through the D.C. region Thursday afternoon brought two tornadoes with it, the National Weather Service announced late Thursday. One touched down in the Herndon area, and the other uprooted trees in Southeast Washington, according to media reports.

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, and it will loom large over Virginia on Friday night. The planet will shine in the night sky this weekend, but Jupiter makes its closest approach to Earth on Friday night when it rises in the eastern sky just as the sun sets.
