$5 Million Lottery Prize Claimed By Alexandria Man
He was aiming to win the Powerball jackpot. Instead, he became a millionaire through another lottery game.

KINGSTOWNE, VA—When Kifle Solomon went to play the lottery on March 27, he was aiming to win the $750 million Powerball jackpot. The bad news: the Alexandria man didn't win the Powerball jackpot. The good news: he still became a millionaire.
Solomon won the $5 million in the 50X The Money game. While he bought multiple Powerball tickets, he scored the win in 50X The Money with just one ticket. He bought the winning ticket at Safeway, 5980 Kingstowne Towne Center.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes!” he told Virginia lottery officials.

Solomon top prize win has a 1 in 1,876,800 odds. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.07.
Prizes range from $20 to $5 million. Two $5 million top prizes for 50X The Money have been claimed, and one more remains unclaimed.

The $768.4 million Powerball jackpot went to a winner in Wisconsin. It was the largest winning ticket sold in state history, the third-largest in U.S. Lottery history and Powerball's second-highest in history.
