Absentee Voting Underway in 8th Congressional District Democratic Primary

Absentee voting for the 8th congressional District Democratic primary began Friday, with a location in each of the four city/county component jurisdictions in the 8th District.

Voters must specify a reason why they are voting absentee on their absentee ballot application (applications are available at the in-person voting poll location). This reason may not be challenged, however, clarification may be requested to satisfy completing the application (see application, ‘Supporting Information Required'). 

There are 19 different reasons that a person may choose from for voting absentee (click here). Voting in person is preferred over voting by mail to make sure that your ballot is received timely and counted.

Absentee voting information for each jurisdiction:

• Alexandria City: info / location – 132 North Royal Street, #100
• Arlington County: info / location – Courthouse Plaza, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 320
• Falls Church City: info / location – 300 Park Avenue, Suite 101 East
• Fairfax County: info / location – 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 323 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Thursdays: 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturdays: May 31 and June 7, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.)

Fairfax County is considering adding another absentee voting location. Patch will update with information when it becomes available.
