Alexandria Man Guilty Of Gun, Drug Trafficking Crimes
The 19-year-old had been arrested when selling drugs to an undercover cop in the Kingstowne area.

ALEXANDRIA, VAāAn Alexandria man pleaded guilty Wednesday to using and carrying a gun during drug trafficking operations. Bryan Jamal Matthews, 19, faces five years to life in prison after multiple arrests related to drug and gun-related crimes.
According to court documents, Matthews distributed an ounce of marijuana to an undercover police officer in the Kingstowne area in February. He was chased and arrested, leading police to find a semi-automatic gun with an extended magazine and other drugs.

Matthews was released on bond, but prosecutors say he continued to distribute drugs and keep guns. On May 19, federal agents received a warrant to search his home. He attempted to flee and hide his loaded gun in the woods.
His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 20.
