According to the Virginia Lottery, his first reaction was to call his wife and say, “I’m coming home. I think I just won $500,000!”
Moreland, who works in sales, said he may use the money to replace his deteriorating 1997 Volvo. The 7-Eleven store also received $10,000 for selling the winning ticket. He is the second person to claim the top prize, and one unclaimed prize remains.
