Alexandria Small Business Owner Scores $1M In Lottery
The Alexandria business owner won the top prize of $1 million at a 7-Eleven.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—An Alexandria man was surprised to find he won the top prize of $1 million in the Virginia Lottery's 20x the Money scratch ticket.
Rene Zavala, who owns a small carpentry business, bought the winning ticket at a Kingstowne 7-Eleven at 7214 Beulah Street.
“I’m feeling great,” he said after the win, according to the Virginia Lottery. “My whole body is nervous!”

He had the choice of the full $1 million over 20 years or a cash prize of $630,915 before taxes. He chose the cash, and will put the winnings toward his business. The 7-Eleven will also receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Zavala claimed the final prize in the 20x the Money ticket. The chances of winning were 1 in 1,162,800.
