Armed Bank Robber On Loose In Franconia Area: Police

FRANCONIA, VA—Fairfax County Police are actively searching for an armed bank robber in the Franconia area Thursday afternoon.

The bank robbery happened at a Wells Fargo Bank at 6110 Franconia Road. Police say the suspect displayed a gun and fled from the bank.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s or 50s around 5 foot 6 to 5 foot 8 with blond or light brown hair and facial hair. He was wearing a gray or green bandanna, glasses, white hat, blue jacket and jeans.

Police ask residents to stay clear of the area as officers search. Call 911 if you see the suspect.
