First Day Of School In Fairfax County: Tips For Morning Commuters
Fairfax County students head back to class on Aug. 28. Here are some resources that will help commuters in the morning.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA—Fairfax County students are heading back to class earlier this year, and drivers should be aware of the increased presence of buses, pedestrians and crossing guards on the roads.
This year, Fairfax County Public Schools' first day is Monday, Aug. 28, one week before Labor Day. Students started after the holiday the previous school year.
Police Chief Edwin Roessler residents should be aware of the earlier start date and should look out for school crossing guards and officers enforcing traffic laws at school crossings and bus stops.
