Benefit Show To Be Held For Kingstowne Fire Victims
Local performers will raise money for a Kingstowne family after a fire forced them out of their home.

KINGSTOWNE, VA—There's now another way to help the Kingstowne family that have been displaced from their home in the Feb. 2 fire.
Catjam, regularly rallied musicians to raise money for charities, spearheaded by the King Street Bluegrass band. This week, the group has decided to raise money for the victims of the fire Thursday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. at the Franconia Moose Lodge, 7701 Beulah Street, Alexandria. Attendees can donate to a tip jar, which will completely go toward the displaced family.
The event is monthly event raising money for local causes while offering live music, food and drink. Since 2010, it's raised $120,000 for local charities. The group usually holds the fundraisers every second Thursday of the month at the Franconia Moose Lodge.

The family of six affected by the fire, Sharon Hunt, her daughter Kyra, nephew Jason, and grandchildren, are in need of food, clothes, shoes, and household items after the fire damaged their home. They are receiving Red Cross assistance but need help additional help covering housing until they can return home and the expenses of repairing the home. Three of the grandchildren are boys aged 10-6, while another 19-year-old girl is living away from home at Norfolk State University.
No one was injured in the fire, which inflicted $73,870 in damages.

If you aren't able to make the charity event, the family has set up a GoFundMe and asked for gift card donations mailed to 6228 Les Dorson Ln Alexandria, VA 22315. The best way to help is through monetary donations, according to the page.
