Board Of Supervisors To Look At Ban On Some Loaded Guns In Cars

Fairfax County leaders will consider banning some loaded guns in vehicles, similar to measured adopted in other NoVa jurisdictions.

The debate on gun control has reached Fairfax County as the Board of Supervisors voted to study the possibility of banning loaded shotguns and rifles in vehicles.

The board unanimously voted on the item after receiving a letter from Democrats in the state General Assembly, according to WTOP.

Chairman Sharon Bulova voiced support for the measure but raised concerns on how it would be enforced. ā€œIt’s just a $100 fine, which is not that much of a prohibition,ā€ she said. Under the ordinance, drivers would also be allowed to carry loaded guns in situations where they fear for their lives.
