Capital Beltway Hit-And-Run Case Remains Unsolved: Police

A man was struck by an oncoming vehicle when exiting his car after another crash.

Virginia State Police renewed a call for witness information for an unsolved Capital Beltway hit-and-run killing one in Fairfax County last year.

The pair of subsequent crashes turned fatal Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 on westbound I-495 at the Eisenhower Connector. Around 1:12 a.m., an RV towing a vehicle collided with the victim's maroon 2015 Nissan Altima. The crash caused the Nissan to spin off the right side of the Beltway, hit a guardrail and return to the right travel lane. The car stopped perpendicular to oncoming traffic.

When the driver got out of the car, he and his car were struck by another vehicle. The unknown driver did not stop and headed westbound on 495. There is no description available for this vehicle.
