Company Investigated For Fraud Against Springfield Residents
A Springfield resident says she paid almost $10,000 for tree removal but never received the service.

SPRINGFIELD, VAāFairfax County Police are investigating a tree removal company after residents say they've paid for a service that they never received.
NBC Washington reports police are looking into claims of the company using scare tactics against elderly residents to convince them to purchase their services.
Deborah Deutschendorf, of Springfield, told the news station a person from Savannah's Tree & Yard Experts said their work crew could remove the dead trees in her yard. She ended up paying almost $10,000, and her elderly neighbor paid $1,000.

The alleged fraud is not limited to Springfield alone. A Reston resident also filed a complaint about the company.
The residents allege that the company never returned to do the work. The company does not appear to have a website, but a profile on the Better Business Bureau page identifies it as a tree service from Culpeper. The police investigation is ongoing.
