EdisonDrama presents Once On This Island
Edison High School's Spring Musical, Once On This Island April 21, 22, and 23rd at 7pm in Edison High School's auditorium
Join us as we celebrate the power of love and the joy of storytelling with a Calypso beat in a rousing production of the musical “Once on This Island” at Edison High School. “Once on This Island” tells the poignant story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. She is sent on a quest that tests the strength of her love and enormous heart. We follow her journey through glorious and joyful song and dance exploring universal issues which affect us all: love, anger, forgiveness, faith, and mortality.
The story is a Caribbean-inspired retelling of the popular fairy tale “The Little Mermaid.” It leaves us with a beautiful message that proves love is more powerful than the forces of prejudice, hatred, and death.
Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday April 21, 22, and 23 at 7pm.
Tickets are available at the door for $10.
