The 43rd District lies in the south-east part of the county, covering the Huntington, Virginia Hills, Kingstowne, Hayfield, Landsdowne, Manchester, Newington, sections of Alexandria, as well as a portion of Lorton; and is within the Lee and Mt. Vernon magisterial districts. (District Map)

A small business leader and counselor, Anna is passionate about improving economic opportunity in Northern Virginia. At her campaign kick-off event, Ms. Urman outlined her goal to “…protect, encourage, and incentivize private sector job growth” through several specific steps: “ Tie local taxes (BPPOLs) to profits instead of gross revenue. Challenge federal regulations (like the EPA) that use vague authority to hamstring small business and family farms. Oppose Gov. McAuliffe’s plan to add $50M in business fees and taxes. Allow veteran-owned businesses to compete for set-aside state contracts on par with women-owned and minority-owned businesses. Enable state universities to partner with industry to commercialize inventions in cyber, biotech, engineering, and aerospace. That will create “jobs of the future” that our college graduates need. That will broaden Virginia’s economy, expanding our attraction to 21st century industry.”
