Fairfax Schools Teacher's Aide Charged In Child Sex Sting

Police say the man offered explicit images of children in return for meeting a minor for sex.

ROSE HILL, VA—An instructional assistant and substitute at Bush Hill Elementary School has been charged after allegedly soliciting sex from a minor, Fairfax County Police.

Monis Irfan, 21, of Springfield was charged with two counts of solicitation of a minor, one count of attempted human trafficking and one count of attempted forcible sodomy.

An undercover detective caught the man on a social networking site. Police say Irfan offered to meet the detective and provide sexually explicit images of children. In return, Irfan believed he would meet a minor to have sex.

The detective arrested Irfan at their meeting. Police learned after the arrest he worked for Fairfax County Public Schools.

A FCPS spokesperson told The Washington Post Irfan was suspended from his position. Irfan is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
