Kingstowne House Fire Results In No Injuries, Displacements

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue reported that residents were safe.

KINGSTOWNE, VA — Monday's townhouse fire in the Kingstowne area did not displace or injure any residents, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

The fire happened around 2:02 p.m. at a townhouse in the 5200 block of Leeward Lane, according to a 2:14 p.m. tweet. Units encountered smoke showing from the middle unit home, located a fire in the basement and put out the fire.

There were no injuries. One person was home when the fire broke out. The resident evacuated, and firefighters rescued a cat.

Investigators determined improperly discarded smoking materials started the fire in the basement. Damages were estimated to be $18,750. No one was displaced.
