Firefighters Tackle Kingstowne House Fire

KINGSTOWNE, VA—Fairfax County Fire and Rescue units responded to a house fire in the Kingstowne area Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported in the 6400 block of Briarmoor Lane, according to a 3:01 p.m. tweet from the fire department. Units found smoke showing from the house and identified a potential kitchen fire. The fire is out as of 3:18 p.m.

All residents were accounted for. There were no injuries. The home's two residents were displaced but have declined Red Cross assistance.

Investigators determined the fire started from an electrical event in the electronic control area of the oven.
