Free Donuts In Alexandria: How To Get Some
Next Friday is National Donut Day, and a donut shop in Alexandria will be handing out free donuts to celebrate.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Friday, June 2 is National Donut Day, and an Alexandria donut shop will be handing out free donuts to celebrate.
Duck Donuts is giving customers a free donut of their choice with any purchase on June 2. In addition, your receipt will also have a "Buy One Get One Free 1/2 Dozen" redeemable until Aug. 31.
At Duck Donuts, employees prepare the batter, fry the donuts and add toppings all in-store. Duck Donuts opened its Alexandria location at Bradlee Shopping Center (3610-F King St) at the end of March. The chain has 16 locations in Virginia.

Can't wait until next Friday? The donut chain is giving away a free dozen donuts every day until June 2. Go to Duck Donuts' Facebook page and comment on its daily contest contest post for a chance to win. Winners will be notified on the comment and awarded a gift certificate for a dozen donuts.
“National Donut Day is one of Duck Donuts’ favorite holidays to celebrate with our customers and throughout the community,” said Russ DiGilio, founder and owner of Duck Donuts Franchising Company LLC, in a statement. “This year, we’re excited to give our customers the opportunity to not only commemorate the day in-stores, but also on Facebook, through our ‘12 Days of Donuts’ contest, offering our fans the chance to win our famous donuts.”

National Donut Day was established back in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I, according to the statement.
