Springfield Plaza Murder: Suspect Faces Charges
Update: A suspect faces murder charges in a Friday morning homicide at Springfield Plaza.

(Updated 6:07 p.m.) SPRINGFIELD, VAāA suspect has been arrested and charged in the Friday morning homicide at Springfield Plaza. He faces murder charges.
Around 2 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured man on the ground outside. Kieron Hart, 29, of Springfield was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead at 3 a.m. Police say the incident originated from an alley argument, and the victim had severe upper body injuries from a stabbing.

Around the same time, police got word of a burglary of a pet store nearby. A man who police believe was involved in the alley argument was seen breaking into a business. Police found and arrested Jay Fasick, 30, of Springfield and took him to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police believe the incidents may be related. Investigations show Fasick broke into the pet store after the alley argument. Police do not know if the suspect and victim knew each other. Follow Patch for more updates.
