KINGSTOWNE, VA — If you're looking for things to do with the family, there are plenty of upcoming Easter events in and around Kingstowne.

There are numerous egg hunts planned in the Kingstowne area and surrounding communities. Many are free to attend, but check each event to see if registration is required.

Another option for Easter fun is the traditional Easter bunny photo. Round up the family for a photo with the Easter Bunny at Springfield Town Center through April 16. Pets can even join the fun on Mondays through April 11. Photo packages may be purchased in advance and on site.

Children's Easter Celebration: Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Franconia United Methodist Church, 6037 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA

A children's Easter event will be held at Franconia UMC. Registration is required.

Community Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, April 16, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Harvest Church, 7401 Beulah Street, Alexandria, VA

For Easter weekend, the church has planned games, a bounce house, face painting, cupcake walk, obstacle course, petting zoo and more.

Mount Vernon Easter Egg Hunt: Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16

Mount Vernon Rec Center, 2017 Belle View Boulevard, Alexandria, VA

This different take on an Easter egg hunt lets children search the pool at Mount Vernon Rec Center for Easter eggs. Eggs will be scattered in public swimming areas for children to walk, paddle and dive to find. Eggs will be distributed throughout the pool several times, and there will be other games around the pool. All participants will receive a goodie bag. Non-swimmers must have an adult with them in the pool. Preregistration is required.

Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Alexandria Free Methodist Church, 4901 Polk Avenue, Alexandria, VA

Young children are invited to this free egg hunt. An Easter puppet show will also be held. Attendees should arrive to register at 10 a.m.

Trinity's Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Children up to fifth grade are invited to participate in this egg hunt and meet the Easter Bunny. Activities will follow the egg hunt until noon. Preregistration is requested.

Easter Egg Hunt and Show: Saturday, April 16, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Fort Ward Park, 4301 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA

This popular show with princesses, heroes and the Easter Bunny is back for a third year. An egg hunt will be held before the show. This is a ticketed event hosted by Princess Parties of DC.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Theismann's Restaurant: Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Theismann's Restaurant, 1800 Diagonal Road, Alexandria, VA

Join the bunny for breakfast and a photo. The event includes an Easter egg hunt and make-your-own Easter basket for children. This is a ticketed event.

Easter Egg Hunt and Touch a Truck: Sunday, April 10, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

St Matthew's UMC, 8617 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA

Join for an egg hunt and touch a truck at this community Easter festival. See large trucks on display for an up-close look. There will be several egg hunts during the event as well as free snacks.

Easter Fun in the Grove: Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Sydenstricker United Methodist Church, 8508 Hooes Road, Springfield, VA

Join Sydenstricker United Methodist Church for some Easter fun, including an egg hunt, story time and a game of Stump the Pastor. Register to attend the free event.
