Massive Fire Battled At Springfield Home

Firefighters from multiple stations tackled a huge blaze at a Springfield home that spread to the ground outside.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—Firefighters battled a heavy two-alarm fire at a Springfield home Thursday night. No residents or firefighters were injured in the fire.

Firefighters from Fairfax County, Springfield, West Springfield, Annandale and other stations were called to the 7400 block of Nancemond Street around the time of 9 p.m. The two-story single family home appeared to show heavy fire and smoke coming from multiple sides of the house.

Firefighters had to coordinate an aggressive attack to put out the fire, which spread to the ground surrounding the home.

Fire investigators have not released a potential cause of the fire. It was immediately unclear if the home remains habitable.
