Men Smash Display Case, Steal Electronics In Springfield: Police

Police are investigating multiple incidents of stolen cell phones in the Springfield area.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—A group of suspects smashed a display case in a theft at a Springfield store Saturday, Jan. 5, according to Fairfax County Police. Detectives are looking into if the incident is related to others in the area.

Around 3:28 p.m., police say seven suspects entered the iFixPhones store at 7018 Commerce Street and smashed a display case containing electronics. The suspects stole numerous electronic devices and fled.

They were seen leaving the area in a blue four-door sedan and a white four door sedan. The suspects were described as black men, ages 15 to 19 wearing black jackets and hoodies.

Another incident under investigation happened that same day around 2:30 p.m. at the T-Mobile store at 8418 Old Keene Mill Road. Police say an employee tried to stop four men from taking cell phones from a display stand. Two of the suspects punched the employee before all suspects fled with the stolen electronic devices. The employee was not injured.

The suspects were described as black men in their late teens to early 20s wearing black hoodies and jackets.
