Men Terrorize Police In Kingstowne Area
Bystanders had to assist an officer ambushed by two drunk men at the Hilltop Village Center.

KINGSTOWNE, VAāPolice have arrested two suspects accused of terrorizing an officer at the Hilltop Village Center in the Kingstowne area New Year's Eve.
An officer originally responded to a report of a stolen wallet at the Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille around 6:45 p.m. He arrived to find two people carrying an apparent unconscious man outside. The man was brought back inside and began causing a disturbance when he woke up.
But as the officer went to respond, another man began to choke the officer and the other man soon joined in to attack the officer from behind.

After all three were taken to the floor in a brawl, a few bystanders stepped in to get the second suspect off the officer. The cop was able to handcuff John Robertson, 61, who originally choked him. Bystanders helped police get the other suspect, Scott Robertson, 31. Both are charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and being drunk in public.
First responders had arrived on scene for the report of the unconscious man, but neither suspects ended up needing medical attention. The officer went to the hospital with minor injuries.
