Metro Weekend Shutdowns Near Kingstowne This Weekend

Work on the Yellow Line bridge and an emergency drill will close stations around Kingstowne this weekend.

KINGSTOWNE, VA—Metro track work happens usually every weekend nowadays, but this weekend in particular is impacting both the Blue and Yellow Lines near the Kingstowne-Rose Hill area this weekend.

On Saturday, Nov. 4 and Sunday, Nov. 5, Yellow Line trains will not be heading into DC. Service will not run between Pentagon and L'Enfant Plaza, and Yellow Line trains will run between Reagan National Airport and Huntington only.

Yellow and Blue line trains will operate every 15 minutes. Riders should use the Blue Line to head into DC.

In addition, the Van Dorn Street and Franconia-Springfield stations will be closed Sunday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. for an emergency drill. During this time, Blue Line trains will operate every 15 minutes between Huntington and Largo Town Center. Free shuttle buses will operate between Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street and Eisenhower Avenue stations.

Other disruptions include Red and Orange Line trains every 30 minutes throughout the weekend. See more information on WMATA's website.
