SPRINGFIELD, VA — Patch stopped by the new Dave & Buster’s set to open Monday at 4 p.m. to check out the place and here’s what we found:

If you enter from the parking lot, you’ll take the stairs or an elevator down into Dave & Buster’s. From the stairs you can see the game area to your right, the bar area straight ahead and a quieter dining area to the left.

We headed for the bar area where Dave & Buster’s had set up some of their popular menu items for photos and an array of items to sample. The bar area is made up of a large bar, booths and tables and lots of TVs both smaller ones and huge screens. You’ll be able to see your game from any table.

An array of menu items was made available to media — we tried one of the burgers, Tater Tots and Bananas Foster Pie, all were awesome. A friend gave the thumbs up to the Smokehouse BBQ Ribs, Buffalo Wings and Triple Layer Chocolate Cake. (The menu also includes salads by the way.)

If you’re looking for something a little quieter, you can dine in the restaurant which you’ll see to your left, as you come down the stairs.

Next we checked out the game area — we tried the Batman game — loads of fun zooming around Gotham City in the Batmobile, taking out Batman’s enemies. Next on our list: The Star Wars Battle Pod. There is something for everyone on the arcade floor. A photo booth set up in the corner didn’t seem to be up and running yet.
