ROSE HILL, VA—A Rose Hill area resident is displaced after a house fire Thursday evening, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue says.

Firefighters responded to a home in the 4800 block of Upland Drive around 6 p.m. The two-story Cape Cod home had fire showing from multiple windows on the first floor. Units quickly brought the fire under control.

No one was home when the fire started, and no injuries occurred. A passerby called 911 after seeing flames in a front window.

Investigators determined the fire originated in an office on the first floor. The cause remains under investigation.

The initial damage estimate is $93,750. The displaced resident has declined Red Cross assistance.
