Rose Hill Fire Starts In Antique Vehicle: Fire Department
One person was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

ROSE HILL, VA—A fire originating in an antique vehicle resulted in one injury at a Rose Hill home Sunday, Oct. 28.
Around 1:26 p.m., Fairfax County and Alexandria firefighters responded to the 5800 block of Brookview Drive in the Rose Hill area of Fairfax County. Units found the two-cat detached garage on fire and quickly got it under control. The fire was put out without damage to the nearby home.
Two residents were working on the antique vehicle when the fire occurred. They evacuated, but one was taken to the hospital for evaluation. There were no other injuries.

Fire investigators say the blaze started in the engine compartment of the antique vehicle when a spark came into contact with gasoline vapors. There were no smoke alarms in the garage, according to the fire department.
No one was displaced because of the fire. Initial damage estimates were about $25,000.
