Sexual Assault Of Teen In Springfield Leads To Charges
Police allege that a man sexually assaulted a teenager inside a Springfield Town Center bathroom.

SPRINGFIELD, VA ā Fairfax County Police have charged a man in an alleged sexual assault at Springfield Center Thursday.
Officers responded to Springfield Town Center around 4 p.m. Thursday after a teenager was followed and sexually assaulted inside a bathroom by an unknown man. The victim had told his mother, who reported the incident to police.
With a description of the suspect, patrol officers assigned to Springfield Town Center located and detained a man. An investigation followed, leading police to charge Corey Venable, 34, of Washington D.C., with forcible sodomy, abduction with the intent to defile and providing false information to law enforcement. He was served with an outstanding warrant from another agency and is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
