Shoplifter Tries To Bite Officer In Springfield: Police

A woman is facing charges after allegedly trying to bite an officer after shoplifting at Springfield Town Center Tuesday.

Around 2:48 p.m., shopping center officers responded to 6500 Springfield Mall for report of a larceny. Police found a woman in the parking lot with stolen goods.

As officers tried to arrest her, she resisted and tried to bite one of them, police say. Tanesha Ford, 30, of Washington, D.C. was taken into custody and charged with assault on law enforcement officers and larceny.

BURGLARIES:

• 6000 block of Cobbs Road, between 12:00 p.m. on 8/30/18 and 11:23 a.m. on 9/4/18. The victim returned from vacation to find someone broke his bedroom window and stole cash and a coin collection.
• 5575 Vincent Gate Terrace (Sullivan Place), between 3 p.m. on 9/2/18 and 10 a.m. on the 9/4/2018. An employee reported someone entered the leasing office and stole several computers.

LARCENIES:

• 5600 block of Bloomfield Drive, seat from vehicle
• 7800 block of Heneska Loop, cell phone from location
