Springfield Blood Drive Offers Nationals Tickets With Donation

The Greater Springfield Volunteer Fire Department will host a blood drive where donors receive a pair of Washington Nationals tickets.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — Donating blood has the benefit of helping replenish the supply of blood at local hospitals. There will be another perk at an upcoming blood drive hosted by the Greater Springfield Volunteer Fire Department.

The blood drive on Monday will give a pair of Washington Nationals tickets to blood donors. The Inova Blood Donor Services event will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 7011 Backlick Road, Springfield. The tickets are for the Aug. 30 game versus the Philadelphia Phillies.

Appointments are required to attend. Donors can sign up through Inova Blood Donor Services.

Inova Blood Donor Services has an ongoing need for blood donations. The health system needs 200 units of blood and blood components daily to serve its communities.

If you can't make it to the Monday blood drive but want to donate, visit a donor center or another blood drive. Visit Inova Blood Donor Services to sign up for an appointment at a donor center or blood drive or search for blood drives through American Red Cross.
