Springfield Gets A Rage Room To Let You Break Things

Want to break things but not in your own home? The newly-opened Smash Pit puts you in a room with a tool and items to destroy.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — First axe throwing debuted in Fairfax County as a new way to release stress. Now the rage room trend is catching on with the opening of Smash Pit in Springfield.

Smash Pit is a venue where people can book a room with items to break and a tool to break them with. It is now open in a warehouse located at 7701 Southern Drive Suite C13, Springfield.

According to a news release from the venue, "Smash Pit's ultimate goal is to support and promote wellness by combining entertainment and stress release." Participants are provided with items to destroy, a smashing tool, a face shield, goggles, coveralls and heavy duty gloves.

The experience is for ages 14 and up, but teens ages 14 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent. Participants or a parent must sign a waiver. Closed foot shoes are required.

Prices start at $20 per person. Hours are 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, 12 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday, 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. For more information or to book a session, visit smash-pit.com.
