Springfield Man Accused Of Second Rape

Police have uncovered a second rape of a mentally incapacitated victim.

SPRINGFIELD, VA—A Springfield man is facing another charge after police identified a second alleged rape.

Bernard Betts-King, 60, of Springfield, was arrested Monday and charged with the rape of a mentally incapacitated woman in 2018. Further investigations determined another rape occurred in early 2017.

Betts-King was working as a behavioral specialist at the MVLE Community Center on Fullerton Road at the time of the alleged 2018 rape. His last employer was Community Living Alternatives at 9401 Lee Highway, Fairfax. Both of the employers have cooperated with the police investigation.
