Vehicle Hit By Train In Springfield: Police

The fire department said the car driver was not injured, and there was no derailment.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — A car and train collided Tuesday afternoon in Springfield, according to Fairfax County authorities.

Fairfax County Police say its Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash in the 5700 block of Industrial Drive. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue units also responded and said the trail did not detail. The car driver and those on the train were not injured.

Police urged drivers to use caution when approaching a railroad crossing.
