Warm Salsa And Pico De Gallo: Kingstowne Restaurant Violations

KINGSTOWNE, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from Kingstowne and Springfield inspections in early September. Among the violations were numerous foods hot cold enough in refrigerators at Kingstowne's Baja Fresh Mexican Grill. This was a repeat violation and was corrected during the inspection.

Also included are restaurants with no violations. Reports are typically posted five to seven days after the inspections. Full reports are available on the health department’s website. Click on the violations to see each restaurant's results.

violations: foods cold holding at improper temperatures, dirty food equipment (both corrected), coolers not operating properly

Monty's Steakhouse: 8426 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA 22152, last inspection: Sept. 5

violations: potential cross contamination of raw meats, salad prep cooler not operating properly, foods cold holding at improper temperatures (all corrected)

Paisano's: 6133 Backlick Road A, Springfield, VA 22150, last inspection: Sept. 6
