1. New chip-enabled EBT cards arrive in Lynchburg after surge in SNAP theft (wsls.com) — Lynchburg SNAP recipients are getting new chip-enabled EBT cards in the mail that add PIN, CVV, tap-to-pay, and other security features after more than $60,000 in local benefits were stolen in August. Old gray cards will automatically expire once the new ones are issued, so residents should watch their mail, activate the replacement card, and use the ConnectEBT app to monitor October benefits, which cannot be reimbursed if stolen.
   

2. Mobile ordering launches at Westover Room, Daiki Box (newsadvance.com) — Students, faculty, and staff at the University of Lynchburg can now skip the line by using the Transact Mobile Ordering app to place pickup orders at the Westover Room and The Daiki Box in Drysdale. The service, launched in August, accepts Dining Dollars, Hornet Bucks, and credit cards, and staff hope to add delivery, making meals faster and more convenient for the campus community.
   

3. Kelly M. Glenn, M.Ed., criminal justice instructor (newsadvance.com) — Criminal justice instructor Kelly Glenn teaches at the University of Lynchburg, drawing on experience as a police officer, detective, and victim services coordinator. With degrees from Liberty University and local law enforcement certification, she focuses on practical skills in areas like intimate partner and sexual violence, as well as guiding students through the criminal justice hiring process.
   

4. United Airlines Launches 12 New Nonstop Routes From This Major Hub: See Full List Now (simpleflying.com) — United Airlines is adding a new nonstop route between Washington Dulles and Lynchburg starting March 24, 2026, restoring a connection last seen in the early 1990s. For Lynchburg travelers, this means easier access to United's hub network and more options for both domestic and international trips, alongside several other new domestic and overseas routes from Dulles.
