McLean Man Charged With Sending Inappropriate Messages to Gainesville Girl

A McLean man is facing a criminal charge for sending inappropriate messages to a Gainesville girl, according to the Prince William County police.

Detectives with the police department’s Special Victims Unit arrested Alexander Jonathan Brittin, 23, of 1214 Ingleside Ave., on Wednesday, April 22, without incident, according to a police report. He’s been charged with use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

The charge stems from an April 1 incident that triggered the police investigation. Brittin and the victim, a female juvenile from Gainesville, are known to each other, the police report said.

Brittin’s court date is pending, and information on his bond was unavailable, police said.
