Board of Supervisors Chair Candidate Debate To Be Held In McLean
Four Democratic candidates running for Fairfax County Board of Supervisors chairman will participate in the debate.
MCLEAN, VA—The four Democratic candidates running for chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will participate in a McLean debate on Thursday, May 30. It will be held from 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m. at The Alden, McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Avenue, McLean.
The candidates are real estate developer Tim Chapman, Fairfax County School Board member Ryan McElveen, Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay and Georgetown Law professor Alicia Pierhoples. Current Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova is not seeking reelection.
The debate is being held by the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce and will be moderated by Peggy Fox of WUSA9. Admission is free.

The Democratic primary election will be held on June 11. The election will also determine candidates for Board of Supervisors seats in the Hunter Mill, Lee and Providence districts. Other primary races include the Commonwealth's Attorney for Fairfax County and House of Delegates and Senate races with multiple Democratic candidates.
There will not be a 2019 Republican primary in Fairfax County, as the Republican Party will select its candidates for the general election. Voters are not registered by party in Virginia, so they can cast a ballot in the Democratic primary. See sample ballots and other election information on Fairfax County's website.
