Fairfax County Hiring 2,700 Election Workers for Nov. 4
Compensation is $175 to work the full day; half-day shifts may also be available.

Fairfax County residents interested in becoming an election officer for the Nov. 4 General Election can apply online through the Virginia Department of Elections. The information will be forwarded to the Fairfax County Office of Elections, which estimates it needs approximately 2,700 election officers for the election.
Qualifications include being a registered voter in Virginia and available to work on Election Day. Each election officer is required to complete documentation for employment eligibility in-person at the Fairfax County Office of Elections and attend a training class prior to Election Day.
The compensation to work the full day is $175 and half-day shifts may be available.

You can also apply by email or by calling the Office of Elections:
- Email elect@fairfaxcounty.gov : Include full name, current address, daytime telephone number and your date of birth. This information is necessary in order to verify your voter registration.
- Call: 703-324-4735 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Nov. 4 General Election will include elections for member of the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives for 8th, 10th and 11th Congressional Districts, as well as a proposed Virginia Constitutional Amendment and a Transportation Bond.
