- Yesterday morning, a group of Virginia Congress members announced that the state would be getting more than $223 million in federal funds for infrastructure. The money from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will go towards widening and deepening Norfolk Harbor and storm mitigation. "This funding will advance key infrastructure projects in the region that will invest in the Port of Virginia, boost the local economy, create good-paying jobs, and preserve Virginia's status as a leader in maritime trade and defense," said U.S. Senator Mark Warner. - Operation Homefront gifted United States Army veteran Mark Sheldon and his family a 2019 Dodge Journey. Sheldon's car was totaled last summer when he and his wife were rear-ended. The couple were unable to work for a while and were not able to replace their vehicle. (CBS 6 News Richmond WTVR)
- Norfolk police have detained one person in connection with a shooting on Tuesday afternoon in the 200 block of Poplar Avenue. No one was injured in the shooting and charges are pending following an investigation. (WAVY.com)
