City Of Norfolk: Suspect Arrested In Connection With Domestic-Related Homicide On A Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Norfolk Police have arrested a man responsible for a shooting that left another man dead Friday morning.

Around 3:30 a.m., dispatchers received a call for a gunshot victim inside of a residence in the 700 block of A Avenue. When police arrived, they found a man, identified as Torey L. Lane, 39, of Virginia Beach, suffering from a gunshot wound. Lane was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

As a result of the investigation, Detectives have charged Tyree O. Jones, 30, of Norfolk, with second degree murder and use of a firearm. Jones is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.

Detectives have determined this shooting to be domestic-related.
