City Of Norfolk: Suspects Arrested; Norfolk Police Continue To Investigate Shooting On Wiley Drive

NORFOLK, Va. (NPD) – Detectives have arrested and charged two people in connection with a shooting Thursday evening that left a man injured.

Around 8:30 p.m. on November 11, 2021, Norfolk Police were called to the 700 block of Wiley Drive for the report of gunshot disturbance. When Officers arrived on scene, they observed the suspects actively shooting weapons.
Officers confronted the suspects and took a 17-year-old male and Mario D. McInnis, 20, of Norfolk, into custody at the scene.

During the incident, Officers located a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The 17-year-old has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm, willfully discharging a firearm in a public place, and possession of a firearm by a juvenile. He is currently being held in the Norfolk Detention Center.
McInnis was charged with reckless handing of a firearm and possession of an extended magazine. He is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
No Officers fired their weapons during this incident.
