Here are the top three stories today in Norfolk:

  1. In 2021, Hampton Roads native Brittany Jane began collecting clothing donations and storing them inside a personal locker in Norfolk. This month, she took those donations to build a "community closet" partnership with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore's Jordan-Newby food pantry in Norfolk. Each Saturday, Jane distributes her donated clothes to visitors during the food pantry's regular operating hours. (13newsnow.com WVEC)
  2. For the second weekend in a row, the Virginia Department of Health has closed the community vaccine and testing centers in Norfolk and Newport News due to inclement weather. Both sites closed early on Friday, and will remain closed through Sunday; they are expected to reopen on Monday for regular hours. Anyone who needs to reschedule a testing appointment can do so online. (WAVY.com)
  3. Throughout the month of February, AAA Tidewater and Drive Safe Hampton Roads are collecting old and damaged car seats that are no longer safe for use. According to AAA, car seats should be taken out of circulation after six years from purchase, as well as if it's missing parts or has been recalled.
