🌱 Free COVID-19 Testing For NPS Athletes + Black History Month

Here are the top three stories today in Norfolk:

  1. Beginning on Feb. 14, Norfolk Public Schools will offer free COVID-19 testing to everyone in high school athletics, from students to staff. The optional testing will take place weekly, as a way to quickly identify COVID-19 cases and provide assistance in reducing the possibility of outbreaks. The cost of testing will be covered by The Virginia Department of Health. (wtkr.com)
  2. An American Airlines flight was diverted to Norfolk on Tuesday morning due to an in-flight issue. The flight, which was headed to Miami, was diverted to Norfolk International Airport after experiencing a mechanical issue while in flight. The plane safely landed and another aircraft was sent to Norfolk to transport the 147 people on board. (WAVY.com)
  3. Throughout February, the Norfolk Botanical Garden is celebrating Black History Month with free, one-day admission. Each Thursday throughout the month of February, community members are invited to explore the Garden's 175 acres for free. Bikes can be brought anytime in February to enjoy some nice days exploring the seven miles of paved pathways. (WAVY.com)
