The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Norfolk.

Happy Saturday, people of Norfolk! Here's everything you need to know going on today.

First, today's weather:

Cold with plenty of sunshine. High: 36 Low: 27.

Here are the top three stories in Norfolk today:

  1. Hampton University is hosting an on-campus community vaccine clinic on Saturday. The event will take place in the campus' Holland Hall gymnasium, located directly across the parking lot from the Hampton University Convocation Center, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Those 12 and older can get their first, second, and third doses of the Pfizer vaccine, and children five to 11 can get their first and second doses. 2. Downtown Norfolk Restaurant Week is returning from Jan. 16 through 23. Over a dozen restaurants will be participating, and reservations are recommended during the event. Participating restaurants will be offering deals with price-fixed, multi-course dinners for $30 or $40, as well as lunch or brunch for $14. (WAVY.com)
  3. Two Norfolk shop owners have followed a global trend as more women are becoming entrepreneurs. Long-time friends Zahra Ahmad and Virginia Thornton created Get Well Soon in 2020, a shop which provides therapeutic exercises such as yoga classes, massage therapy sessions, as well as dozens of products to soothe or uplift your spirits. A study from the Global Women's Entrepreneurship shows the two entrepreneurs aren't alone — millions of women across the world have also become entrepreneurs. (13newsnow.com WVEC)
