The Los Baños Raid was one of the greatest prison rescues in history. Carried out by the 511th Parachute Regiment and Hunter’s Philippine Guerillas, the operation rescued 2,000 prisoners of war without the loss of a single prisoner or liberator. Unbelievably, this amazing feat went largely unheralded because it took place on 23 February 1945 - the same day Joe Rosenthal’s image of the flag raising at Iwo Jima dominated the headlines.

A Q&A session will follow the presentation. The event is free. To register, please visit: www.macarthurmemorial.org or https://cutt.ly/CkQg9cS.
