🌱 Man Killed At Norfolk Hotel + Port Of Virginia Sets New Record

Here are the top stories in Norfolk today:

  1. A 23-year-old man was shot and killed overnight at a Norfolk hotel. Officers received a report about a gunshot victim around 1:20 a.m. Monday at a Days Inn by Wyndham hotel near Military Circle. Authorities found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound; he was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. (The Virginian-Pilot)
  2. The Port of Virginia set new records in November while also focusing on important infrastructure projects that will increase quantity and efficiency. According to a release, this November was the highest of any November in the history of the port. The Port also reports that it "[has] a clear path forward on expanding our rail capacity at NIT and that effort will be underway shortly." (13newsnow.com WVEC)
  3. Though the economy has yet to fully recover from the devastation caused by the pandemic, local job opportunities are still out there, as companies attempt to navigate the new normal. Check out the latest job openings in the Norfolk area. (Norfolk Patch)
