- Palace Princess Beatrice is one of Norfolk's most iconic mermaid statues, perched near the intersection of Llewellyn and 21st Street. But after 21 years of rain, snow, and heat, pieces of Beatrice's blue-green painted tail, brown skin, and fiberglass body have chipped away and worn down. Vivian Davis, a resident artist at the d'Art Center in Downtown Norfolk, was commissioned to rehabilitate her. (The Virginian-Pilot)
- Norfolk residents have filed a lawsuit against the City of Norfolk over the demolition of a historic home. Neighbors of the historic Grandy House in the Freemason neighborhood of Norfolk filed the lawsuit in late October citing the city didn't go through the proper procedures. (WAVY.com)
