Sunny and pleasant. High: 61 Low: 43.
Here are the top three stories today in Norfolk:
- The Military Circle Mall Testing Center is now officially closed as the Norfolk Health Department has transitioned to mobile testing. The mobile testing center will be out of a vendor-operated van. The Department says that the change will better allow them to access areas with limited mobility throughout Norfolk. (WAVY.com)
- The Virginia Zoo has announced that Mramba, the African lion, and Asia, the white-cheeked gibbon, have been humanely euthanized. The deaths of two of the oldest livings animals of their respective species were necessary due to complications that arose from old age. Asia was the oldest white-cheeked gibbon in North America at 48 years old. (WAVY.com)
- In an effort to recognize Black historical contributions year-round, the Virginia Beach History Museums and Norfolk State University have joined forces. Together, they will produce The African-American History Panels virtual series that kicks off on Feb. 24. The panel will focus on Black Health & Wellness and its impact on communities, families, and education. (City of Virginia Beach)
