- Hampton Roads has welcomed a new house to the area that is opening its doors to help the trans community. Tarena Williams, the founder of the Southeastern Transgender Resource Center, has worked to make this a reality for years. According to Williams, the house is located off Colley Avenue in Norfolk and can house up to 12 people, making it the first of its kind in the region. (wtkr.com)
- According to Norfolk police, the man responsible for a double homicide on Thursday has also died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Thursday homicide resulted in the deaths of a man and a woman. Detectives charged Eugene E. Ward, 41, of Norfolk, with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of use of a firearm, but he was found deceased on Jan. 7. (Press Release Desk )
- After four inmates at the Norfolk City Jail have tested positive for COVID-19, the jail temporarily halted all programs and suspended visitation in an effort to help slow the spread of the virus. According to jail officials, each infected inmate is experiencing minor symptoms. (wtkr.com)
