Here are the top three stories today in Norfolk:
- Norfolk's MacArthur Center is now being managed by Spinoso Real Estate Group after the preview owner defaulted on its debt in 2019. Wells Fargo implemented the change after the real estate group was appointed by the city late last year, according to the city's economic development director. He reports that the city has no immediate plans to redevelop the property. (Daily Press)
- TSA officers at the Norfolk International Airport reportedly saw a significant increase in guns being confiscated from travelers in 2021. According to officials, officers found 23 guns while performing security checkpoints at the airport last year. Surprisingly, Norfolk's airport only had the second-highest amount of confiscated guns in the state. (13newsnow.com WVEC)
- A Norfolk art thief has stolen 15 of 20 banners from the NEON district. The banners measure several feet high and several feet wide. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the theft to contact the Norfolk Police Department's anonymous tip line. (WAVY.com)
